MOUNT DORA, Fla. – (May 18, 2010) – National Deaf Academy (NDA), a Psychiatric Solutions, Inc. (PSI) facility, was proud to be the presenting sponsor and host of the 9th Annual Mt. Dora Police and Fire Department Golf Tournament on April 30 at the Country Club of Mount Dora. Proceeds from the tournament benefited the Fire and Police Department’s Memorial Fund. Contributions to the Memorial Fund exceeded $20,000, including National Deaf Academy’s contribution of $7,500 as the main tournament sponsor. NDA also raised an additional $2,500 through solicitation of sponsorships, golf registrations and prize donations. Nearly 150 golfers participated in the event. “National Deaf Academy was honored when our local police and fire departments reached out to us to be a part of their special event,” said CEO Deanna Goldstein. “We are proud to support our local departments in their efforts to honor those who have served our community. The event was a great success and we look forward to being involved in the tournament in years to come.” Police Chief T. Randall Scoggins was overwhelmed with the time and effort NDA and other PSI facilities gave to the people in uniform serving the community. “The Mount Dora Police and Fire Departments are greatly appreciative of the support from the National Deaf Academy,” said Police Chief T. Randall Scoggins. “With NDA as our main corporate sponsor this year, we held the most successful golf tournament to date, and look forward to even more success next year!” Other PSI facilities attending the event included University Behavioral Center, Windmoor Healthcare of Clearwater, Behavioral Educational Services and Wekiva Springs Center.
